OUR accommodation
Nestled within the olive trees, surrounded by open fields and beautiful gardens lies the estate of Can Campolier. Dating back to the 17th Century, the estate consists of three beautiful Catalan villas; Can Benet, Cal Germà and Can Campolier. Newly renovated in 2018, Can Benet and Cal Germà provide premium country style accommodation for our guests, with both villas retaining their authentic Catalan charm. The main villa, Can Campolier, lies at the heart of the estate, creating a space to sit and relax with refreshments available for all guests during their visit to our haven on the hillside.
Can campolier
The manor house is an imposing building, visible from across the town of Banyoles. It stands on the hilltop from where the original family owners managed the surrounding farmlands. Views from the balconies take in the Banyoles Lake and the surrounding mountain ranges.
As in centuries past, local inhabitants of the village walk the gravel roads of the Can Campolier estate, enjoy the fruits of the orchards and ride their horses. Guests have free access to these thirty-five acres of farmland, to the gardens, olive groves, the 17 meter swimming pool and its terrace.
Inside the manor house, the original stone tiles, metal-worked chandeliers and arched ceilings reflect the splendour of the past. The spacious inner rooms invite guests to gather, to share a drink and tell the adventure of the day.
Guest houses
CAL GERMÀ
Villa Cal Germà is an original Catalan masia built in the 1800s, and as of 2019 fully renovated to provide all the modern comforts our guests need. The villa can sleep a maximum of 6 people with 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and two beautiful communal living spaces. The villa also shares the stunning cobbled courtyard with the main villa, Can Campolier, which dates back to 1673.
CaN Benet
The second masia, Can Benet, is an original workman’s cottage, situated a short walk away from the main house. It really is nestled into its wooded surroundings and offers privacy often requested. Each window of the house presents a picture to the surrounding natural forests and farmlands. It is beautifully fitted for comfort and a long stay! The covered barbeque area in the garden is a welcome and useful space for guests.
Can Benet can sleep ten guests, double occupancy, and five, single occupancy. Each bedroom has a beautifully finished en-suite bathroom.
The pool
Exit the door from the courtyard to the pool area and immediately enjoy the invitation to swim in the blue length of the pool. Summer in Spain is hot and long and you may need to cool off after the day’s activities or you may choose to spend the entire day relaxing on the pool deck.
Spend the sunset hours here with a glass of wine and tapas, taking in the magnificent views across the farmlands and villages to the distant Pyrenees. No better way to end your day in rural Catalunya, or to start your evening before dinner at a local restaurant.
